Home Remodeling
Failing Core Web Vitals → fast, without a rebuild
The problem
A multi-location home-remodeling company was failing Google’s Core Web Vitals and nobody could say why. Pages felt sluggish, mobile scores were poor, and the slowness was quietly working against both rankings and conversions. The team assumed they needed an expensive rebuild.
What I did
Instead of starting over, I ran a full Lighthouse and front-end audit to find the actual bottleneck. The site was serving 24,000+ images at full, unoptimized size — not a single WebP — because an optimization plugin had silently disconnected. The portfolio galleries were the worst offenders: 58 pages weighing up to 41 MB each on mobile. On top of that, a ~3-second server response meant every visit started slow before an image even loaded. I rebuilt the image pipeline, restructured the heavy galleries to load on scroll, added edge caching, and corrected inconsistent LocalBusiness schema across all 146 pages and four locations.
The result
No rebuild required — just someone willing to find the real cause. Most performance problems aren’t mysteries; they’re one disconnected setting nobody’s looked at.
Multi-Site
The tracking that could’ve triggered a lawsuit
Three client sites were firing analytics and tracking before visitors consented — real exposure under California privacy law. I audited exactly what fired pre-consent across all three, produced counsel-ready documentation of the findings, and implemented a compliant consent-management setup so nothing loads until the visitor agrees.
Almost no freelance web developer does privacy and compliance work. This is the kind of rigor an agency layer can’t match — and the kind that keeps a business out of trouble.

Mental-Health Practice
Fixing the cause, not the symptom
A client’s site had a layout bug that came back every single time they edited a page — the kind of thing that becomes a recurring support ticket, and a recurring bill. Instead of hand-fixing it over and over, I traced the actual cause and built a durable safeguard, so the client can keep editing freely and it stays fixed.
I solve problems once. I don’t nickel-and-dime recurring symptoms.
